Hans, 64 years old, has been working as a CNC turner at DKH for about seven years. His career in technology began at a young age, starting with LTS T-stream and MTS mechanical engineering, which has always remained his passion. “In my early years, I ran my own garage business, but unfortunately, I had to close it after 10 years due to a financial crisis. After that, I entered the machining industry. An interesting fact is that I worked for 18 years at FIV, which was a sister company of HFI (now also part of Andra Tech Group). When FIV closed its doors, I found my way to DKH.”
The company DKH suits Hans perfectly, as does the work he does there: “Seven years ago, when I was looking for a new challenge, I started exploring my options and quickly concluded that DKH was the right fit for me. The work is challenging—not too big and not too small. We sometimes call it ‘shoebox work.’” Last year, DKH was acquired by the Andra Tech Group. For Hans personally, this transition has had little impact. However, he has noticed that there is now more clarity. “I know exactly what is expected of me and what lies ahead, and I really appreciate that.”
Hans is approaching retirement age, but he’s not considering stopping work just yet. “I hope to stay at DKH in good health for many more years. I enjoy working, and it also provides great social connections,” says Hans. However, when the time comes, he might consider working fewer hours to devote more attention to his other great passion: cycling.
